Screening Disclosure and Rights

Effective and last updated July 16, 2026

This standalone disclosure explains potential consumer-report screening. Any authorization is presented separately before a report is requested.

1. Standalone screening disclosure

CommuterCart may obtain a consumer report about a Driver or applicant for a legally permitted eligibility, contracting, safety, or employment purpose. A report may include identity verification, address history, motor-vehicle records, license status, insurance-related information, criminal history where permitted, and other lawful background information. This document is a disclosure, not a guarantee that a report will be obtained.

2. Authorization

When a report is required, CommuterCart presents a separate authorization in the application workflow before requesting it. The authorization identifies the reporting provider and any state-specific notices. Visiting this page alone does not authorize a report. An applicant should not submit sensitive identifiers until directed to an approved secure workflow.

3. Use and qualification

CommuterCart uses screening information only for a permissible purpose, such as verifying eligibility, credentials, driving qualifications, safety, fraud prevention, or compliance. A screening result may inform a qualification decision but is not used as a substitute for legally required individualized assessment. Protected characteristics are not screening criteria.

4. Pre-adverse and adverse action

Before taking final adverse action based in whole or in part on a covered consumer report, CommuterCart provides any required pre-adverse-action notice, a copy of the report, a summary of rights, reporting-agency information, and a reasonable opportunity to dispute inaccurate or incomplete information. If final adverse action is taken, CommuterCart provides the notice and information required by applicable law.

5. Rights and state notices

Applicants may contact the reporting agency to obtain or dispute their file and may submit corrections or context to CommuterCart through the Privacy Request form. Maine and other state-specific rights and restrictions are provided when applicable. Requesting a copy or disputing information will not result in unlawful retaliation.

6. Security and retention

Screening and credential-verification records are restricted to personnel and providers with an operational need and are ordinarily retained for up to seven years after the application or relationship under the claims-focused retention schedule, unless law requires a shorter period or a claim, investigation, legal hold, or other legal duty requires longer retention.

7. Contact

Screening questions and disputes may be submitted through /privacy-request or mailed to CommuterCart, 186 Main Street, Farmington, ME 04938, United States. A reporting-agency dispute should also be sent directly to the agency identified in the report or notice.
